For several years now I have been learning what separates highly successful individuals from the mediocre.
For one, they stay far away from mediocrity and surround themselves with other high performing individuals.
Everybody has the illusion that the successful were born with some superhuman ability or talent. Maybe this is true, but anybody can become a high performer and achieve great levels of success.
There is no secret formula.
It does not matter your background, your sex, race, religion, or even your upbringing. We all have the ability within to succeed, and it comes down to one key thing.
Falling in love with the mundane.
Successful Facilities Management professionals stay in love with routine, no matter how boring it gets and consistently execute. They find ways to show up despite feelings of boredom and they perform.
We have all felt that feeling when attempting something new or working on a project, goal or thing we are interested in, we get super excited then eventually get bored as the days go by.
“Professionals stick to a schedule; amateurs let life get in the way.”
To achieve great things in anything we do, we must find ways to become endlessly fascinated by doing the same thing day in and day out.
